  • Abstract
Based on the information overload caused by the increase of complexity of modern control systems in the process industry, a new approach for a generic 3D visualization system was developed. Founded on the technical state of the art and the traditional visualization systems in the area of process data visualization, this paper describes the function of multi agent architecture for data collection, data pre-processing and data compression as well as the approach for the new generic 3D visualization for multi data presentation. This visualization system is based on the cognitive abilities of pattern recognition of human beings and a decrease of the mental workload of the operators. An evaluation with different user groups shows the operator´s acceptance and usability.
