Abstract
The Delay Tolerant Mobile Sensor Network distinguishes itself from conventional sensor networks by several unique characteristics such as node mobility, intermittently connectivity, and frequent changing topology. The traditional approaches for sensor networking cannot be applied in DTMSN directly. Hence, routing in DTMSN has attracted a great interest recently. In this paper, we propose an energy-aware socially-based spray and focus routing (ESSF) for DTMSN, which introduces an efficient energy-aware mechanism in the first phase to balance the limited message replicas, and design a socially-based forwarding algorithm in the second phase to economize the traffic overhead. Through intensive simulation result, it proves that ESSF can achieve comparable or the lower transmission overhead and delay than the exiting popular quota-style multi-replica routing protocols.
