Abstract :
This paper presents the concept of a dual band printed antenna fed by an Asymmetric Coplanar Strip (ACS) covering the 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN and 5.2/ 5.5/ 5.8 GHz Wi-Fi applications. The optimal dimensions of the proposed uniplanar antenna is 19mm × 21mm × 1.6 mm when printed on a substrate of dielectric constant 4.4 and height 1.6 mm. The dual band nature of the antenna is brought about by converting ground plane into inverted F shape. The antenna exhibits nearly moderate gain in operating bands. Details of the antenna design, simulation, and results are presented and discussed.
