Abstract :
The paper describes a methodology for the evaluation of the eddy current losses in the permanent magnet machines, The methodology doesnpsilat require the application of a FEM transient analysis but relies on the coupling of magnetostatic and sinusoidal eddy current FEM analysis sequences. Its main advantageous features are shorter calculation times in comparison with the FEM transient code, the evaluation of each harmonic loss component and the capability to take into account the variation of some geometric parameters.
