Abstract :
This paper introduces characterization of over-sampled linear phase perfect reconstruction filter bank as an embedded part of corresponding critically sampled filter bank. We deal with FIR linear phase perfect reconstruction filter banks with real-valued coefficients in which all analysis filters have the same length. Two methods are presented for designing such filter banks with integer oversampling ratio and rational oversampling ratio, respectively. Finally, several design examples are presented to confirm the validity of our approach
