Abstract :
Recent advances in the multi-look SAR processing technique are discussed. It is demonstrated that such processing technique is efficient not only for the reduction of speckle noise, but it can be effectively used for the correction of geometric and radiometric image distortions that arise under unstable aircraft flight conditions. The corresponding built-in multi-look SAR processing algorithms have been developed and implemented. The proposed solutions are supported by radar data obtained with X- and Ku- band airborne SAR systems installed on light-weight aircrafts.
