Title :
A modular ATS concept for the Swedish GRIPEN aircraft
Author_Institution :
FFV Aerotech, Arboga, Sweden
Abstract :
The ATS concept developed for test of all electronics in the Swedish multi-role combat aircraft JAS 39 Gripen, has been successfully delivered to the Swedish Air Force. All major requirements originally set up, has been fulfilled-although not necessarily in the way it was planned some 10 years ago. C/ATLAS has been used for analog test in combination with VETO for dynamic digital test. Coordination of production test and maintenance test of all Swedish built electronics in the Gripen has been achieved. That was one of the most important goals to reduce the overall project cost. To fully implement COTS was another of the major cost reduction items. The JAS-ATE was designed to be modular, flexible and cost effective-which is what was achieved
