Title :
Equipment versus utility applications
Abstract :
The current version of IEEE standard 519 was written with the intention of limiting the impact of waveform distortion on utility customers. In practice, the standard has also been used as a performance standard for electronic equipment such as adjustable speed drives and uninterruptible power supplies. The language of the standard includes instructions for use within facilities, but misuse of the standard abounds.
