Abstract :
A description is given of the principles and practice regarding degree-of-polymerization (DP) measurements and applications in which they are used to evaluate the degree of aging. The authors discuss the possibility of expediting lifetime predictions using expert system techniques. Experience shows that the DP measurements offer a convenient method for evaluating insulation aging. The expert system can be a useful tool for lifetime prediction of specific insulation systems
