Abstract :
Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) systems are generally based on a common computing system (computer platform with temporal and spatial partitioning) providing common computing and data exchanging resources for multiple functions. During the development cycle, the hosted applications or functions should be developed with efficient and economical IMA prototypes. By porting the BSP and developing an AFDX interface driver, for the first time, an IMA prototype for hosted application development is implemented based on the C2K Single Board Computer (SBC). A commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) based solution for the prototype is achieved at low cost and great availability. The feature and performance of the COTS based IMA prototype is similar to the popular common computing system of modern civil aircraft. The methodology and test procedure are presented as well.
