Abstract :
A new necessary and sufficient condition on quadratic boundedness is presented for a class of linear systems which contain norm-bounded uncertainties. Furthermore, by utilizing a generalized Riccati equation, a simple and practical procedure is developed for determining linear robust controllers such that the resulting systems are quadratically bounded. An application to the rotational motion control of an axisymmetric spacecraft subject to unknown but bounded disturbance torques is included to demonstrate the effectiveness of the procedure presented in this paper
