Abstract :
The authors review the effects of thermal expansion and contraction of the cable core on the service life of lead used as the water-impervious layer of XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene), and examine the relationship between the lead alloy composition of the water-impervious layer and the load cycle property of water-impervious cable in emergency operation. It is shown that the lead alloy composition used as the water-impervious layer plays an important role in the thermal fatigue property
