Abstract :
The intelligent access program (IAP) utilises GPS technology to remotely monitor heavy vehicles against access conditions, providing them with improved access to road network. This paper elaborates three methods in the process of certification and audit for IAP service provider. The quality monitoring station (QMS) is used for testing in-vehicle units (IVUs) in a static environment to determine the positional accuracy and GPS quality. The audit and test vehicle (ATV) is used in dynamic testing of IVU performance assessment of speed, heading and dynamic position accuracy. A range of simulated GPS conditions can be produced in simulation laboratory for the testing of IVU compliance and for the audit of IVU performance.
