Abstract
The authors investigate the input impedance of a cylindrical cavity resonator excited by an electric probe. The input impedance is considered as the superposition of a resistance due to the cavity structure and an impedance across the electric probe terminal. The electric Green´s function due to an electric probe is derived. Based on this Green´s function, the distribution of the electromagnetic field inside the cavity and the input impedance can be derived. A comparison of theoretical results with measurement shows good agreement
