Abstract :
This article deals with the ERCOT power market that expected to switch from current zonal market to nodal market. The nodal market will have day-ahead and real-time market with two settlement system. Energy and ancillary services will be co-optimized. There is an optimal point for such resource at or below to provide energy and above the point to provide ancillary services. This would bring the maximum profit for the resource under perfectively competitive market. Municipals in ERCOT along with cooperatives in ERCOT continue to be NOIE (Non-Opt in Entities).
