Abstract :
Service management is becoming more and more complicated in next generation network - NGN along with the fast NGN services´ development. Present service management models can not satisfy the clear separation between service delivery and network provision. This paper proposes a novel universal NGN service layer management model - USMM, which is independent of network layer. USMM includes network state independent service management functions and service layer management implementation processes in four views, which is modeled by service management function model - SMFM and service management implementation model - SMIM. SMFM analyzes NGN service management requirements in a multi-level and multi-dimension mode. Using the same method, SMFM is easy to extend and deepen. SMIM describes service management implementation in four views. The important relationship between service providers and customers is detailed in SMIM, which is ignored in service and network mixed model.
