Abstract :
Train-ground communication system is one of the essential subsystems of CBTC. Rectangular leaky waveguide laid continuously along the track has been used as transmission medium by some enterprises. Beginning with introducing the principles of leaky waveguide, we do some measurements of leaky waveguide. Compared with the communication by free space propagation, the measurement result shows that communication through leaky waveguide has several advantages when used in CBTC system. A simple architecture of train-ground communication system based on rectangular leaky waveguide is designed as well.
