Abstract :
Within the scope of emergency protection in a case of higher than normal release of radiation from a nuclear facility it is necessary to have short-term information concerning the actual and future effects of the released radioactive materials on the environment near the source. Software components which calculate atmospheric dispersion processes are therefore often an important part of radiation control and monitoring systems in nuclear installations or responsible supervisory authorities
