  • Abstract
    After reviewing the calculation of lightning radiation electromagnetic field above perfect conductor ground, the expression of the lightning radiation field above lossy ground is derived rigorously in this paper. Based on above two cases, the effect of the height of lightning channel, observation point height, and soil resistivity on the lightning radiation magnetic field are analyzed respectively. With the increase of lightning channel height, the curve of the resulting radiation magnetic field tends more seriously to negative z direction. Further experiment is necessary to ascertain the effect of finite channel height. Both the effect of observation point height less than 200 m on lightning radiation magnetic field and that of soil resistivity less than 10 kOmegaldrm can be neglected.
