Abstract
On-site measurement has been shown to be more effective than the routine diagnostic test of de-energized equipment in monitoring the insulation condition of HV (high-voltage) power equipment. An automatic monitor of the dielectric properties C and tgδ of the power equipment has been realized using a microcomputer system. In addition, the pulse-counter method is recommended for measuring tgδ. Error sources during on-site measurement are discussed
