Abstract :
This paper presents a new design of an absorbing screen based on a classical Salisbury concept. In the new design a resistive sheet from the classical Salisbury screen is replaced by a patterned layer. This allows one to decrease the overall screen thickness while simultaneously eliminating major disadvantages of classical solutions, such as their narrow frequency bandwidth. Thereby EMC properties of such screens are improved. Electromagnetic simulations with QuickWave-3D package are conducted and confirm the theoretical predictions of the paper.
