Abstract :
The dynamic range (DR) of SigmaDelta modulators depends on the jitter characteristics of the applied clock. This paper presents a method to calculate the maximum allowed phase noise and spurious tones on the clock which can be applied to the SigmaDelta modulator (SigmaDeltaM) preserving its DR equations are derived for four different feedback DAC topologies used in a SigmaDeltaM. The equations are verified by measurements
