Abstract
To study the properties of some novel power capacitors, the authors designed several specimens with different electrode structures (Al foil folded, extended, embossed, and with different thickness and composite dielectrics (different kinds of film, paper/film)). Some of key parameters of partial discharges and dielectric properties are measured at different temperatures. The maximum electric field is calculated with the boundary element method. Based on the experimental results and field computation, partial discharge characteristics and dielectric properties are discussed
