Abstract
This paper describes a low-cost, programmable board suited to support the fault injection process for microprocessor-based embedded systems. The board monitors the processor bus and is able to count the number of executed instructions, and can therefore be used to trigger the execution of the fault injection procedure. Moreover, the board can be of great help in gathering the information about the fault-free system behavior required to implement the fault collapsing rules described in a previous paper. When integrated in a fault injection environment, the board allows to perform at-speed fault injection experiments with minimum intrusiveness, and to implement effective fault collapsing procedures
