Abstract :
New reflection-type wavelength selective IR emitter is proposed. Surface plasmon polariton, which occurs on metallic grating at the wavelength near to the pitch of the structure, is used for controlling thermal emission. Emission peak at wavelength nearly equal to the period of the grating is observed. As for other wavelength, the reflectors including grating confine the IR power. The emitter temperature increases, consuming lower input power with higher power efficiency.
