Abstract :
An optimized anticorona design (called Coronax) for an HV (high voltage) generator is described which uses digital computation with the Runge-Kutta method instead of a screening test on a large number of specimens. This approach eliminates local overheating, thermal breakdown, and flashover discharge along or over the surface of the Coronax during a 1-min. Hi-pot test. Also presented are results of a verification test
