Abstract :
It is difficult to implement distributed rendering on wide area network (WAN) because of limited-bandwidth and the asymmetric, heterogeneous resources. This paper presents a scalable architecture of asymmetric distributed animation rendering system based on WAN. Regarding the characteristics of WAN, two kinds of rendering group is proposed: cluster rendering group and unorganized PC rendering group. We also discuss key technologies, to provide a means of distributed rendering remotely at low cost.
