Abstract :
This contribution deals with modelling of the uncontrolled plant behaviour on the sensor/actuator level that will eventually provide the basis for synthesis of distributed controllers. It presents a modular modelling formalism as well as a modelling methodology for model engineering rather than designing a model from scratch. The improved modelling formalism includes new modular system semantics. This enables us to study the dynamic behaviour of the modular model without performing a complete composition and thereby destroying the modular nature of the model. A well-structured modelling example of a laboratory plant is provided to illustrate the method. It shows that the method is able to cope with rather large systems of realistic scale.
