  • Abstract
An envelope method of RFIC simulation is mainly discussed in the paper. In the method, the slowly varying envelope components are for transient analysis of SPICE. On each time point of the transient analysis, fast pulse response is calculated by the harmonic balance method, and relatively insensitive to the rate of the high frequency carrier. The method could be used to efficiently simulate the transient response of nonlinear circuits to digitally modulate RF signals. On this basis, an experimental program of circuit envelope technique is developed using MATLAB, and the simulation results are compared with the results of SPICE simulation. The results show that the method is significantly more efficient than conventional time-domain methods and achieves the comparable accuracy.
