Abstract :
The aim of the work is to obtain quantitative experimental data on the process of suppressing the anode spot of a vacuum arc by a longitudinal magnetic field and to compare them with theoretical calculations. In addition to this, the authors designed a system of impulse longitudinal magnetic field which exceeds, by many times, the inherent magnetic field of the arc current at a maximum current value.
