Abstract
Network applications based on embedded platform is becoming more and more popular nowadays. In this paper, a SIP phone based on embedded system is designed and implemented. The embedded processor is S3C2410 which is an ARM-based device and operating system is embedded Linux. By expanding various peripherals, the whole hardware structure is constructed; by porting SIP protocols and analyzing SPEEX encoding theory, the software architecture is accomplished. The experimental results demonstrate that the SIP phone is suitable for voice communication and it can meet practical engineering requirements perfectly.
