Abstract
Developing a system-on-silicon ASIC requires a lot of planning. The architecture of the device covers the function, the test strategy, the physical design, and simulation of the device. These areas need to be carefully considered at the architecture phase. Specifications must get adequate time to be developed; a floating specification is a clear sign not to start the design process. The influence of the system requirements, which lead, to silicon/software trade-off has a fundamental impact on the overall architecture
