  • Abstract
    A hybrid fourth order partial differential equation (PDE) of nonlinear diffusion and bilateral filtering based image restoration is presented in this paper. The proposed model combines nonlinear diffusion fourth order PDEs with bilateral filtering and inherits their advantages, which not only preserves edge and robust to noise but also avoids the staircase effects. Experiment results show the effectiveness of the proposed model and demonstrate its superiority to the existing models.
