Abstract :
A research approach is presented for implementing cooperating intelligent systems (ISs) in a space systems environment. Each IS functions independently for localized situations and cooperates with other ISs to address situations that affect the system globally. Distributed artificial intelligence concerns, model-based intelligent systems, and problem-solving for space mission support are discussed. A satellite power management scenario is used to illustrate the approach
