Abstract
Whilst the concept of embedded generation is not new, a number of factors have combined to now make embedded generation a technically, commercially, environmentally, and to an extent politically, more attractive proposition. The drivers of this technology are outlined. The technological issues surrounding the integration of embedded generation are discussed. The implications and opportunities for network operators and generators and further study implications are also discussed
