Abstract
The conventional energy detection methods do need the information of noise power as a priori, while the estimate of noise power itself is also a piece of work in practical engineering. To do with this, a new energy detection method based upon cyclic spectrum theory is proposed in this paper, which does not require the information of noise power. The method and the scheme to low its computation complexity are explicit taking MPSK signals for example. Extensive computer simulations are given. The performance of detection is concerned with shaping pulse and observation time, and BPSK signals can also be well detected when the signal-noise ratio is low.
