Abstract :
In 3D garment design, transforming of 3D virtual body patch to 2D pattern is the key process. First, the surface of virtual body is broken up into many cubic clothing stripes through vertical sections. And then unfold the 3D stripes to plane ones by triangle measuring method. Next, design darts and break lines according to style requirements, and merge all stripes based on the fabric angle. This processing method can not only make sure that accord with requirements of style, but also avoid areas losing during the unfolding operation.
