Abstract
The pressure to publish in higher education and research institutions is real. Tenure and promotion along with competition among colleagues push researchers and faculty to generate new knowledge with its reporting in the form of scholarly publications. At times, this pressure is passed down to the graduate students working to complete their degree. With the growth in computers, network accessible databases, and the Internet, the ability to access the works of authors and researchers has been facilitated beyond all expectations. This growth can be both a blessing and a curse. Counting the number of publications produced over a given time period is common to the employment performance evaluation process. This paper deals with advanced technologies for assisting the review process and anti-plagiarism technology tools.
