Abstract
In this paper, a novel method for calculating the second order statistics of some random processes is studied. The second order statistics is described by the level-crossing rate (LCR), the average durations of fade (ADF),and the probability density function (PDF) of fade durations.The second order statistics of capacity process over Rayleigh fading channels and lognormal process are derived using the method . Finally,it is shown that the method presented in this paper is more simple than the traditional method.
