Abstract
In this work, the performance of an IR CO2 gas sensor is studied under the effect of oblique incident Gaussian beams with different spot sizes. Sensor performance is analyzed in terms of effective SNR and Beam Effective Intrinsic Sensitivity (BEIS). The ESNR and the BEIS of a beam are deteriorated by a maximum of approximately 82%. Further, the physical explanation related to the results is investigated.
