Message from the SNSDB2012 Workshop Chairs

The First International Workshop on Social Network Service on Databases (SNSDB2012) is co-located with the 2nd International Conference on Social Computing and its Applications (SCA2012) held on November 1-3, 2012, Xiangtan, Hunan, China. Recently, there are many researches in the field of Social Network Services (SNS) and the size of data in Internet is increasing in huge. The purpose of this workshop is to share an opportunity for researchers to introduce recent issues related to Social Network Service on Databases. Through this workshop, SNSDB2012, researchers and practitioners can exchange current issues, challenges, new technologies, and practical experiences. Authors are invited to submit original and research papers addressing technical issues, solutions, technologies and their convergences in social network services and databases fields. SNSDB2012 received 25 submissions. Each of them was rigidly peer-reviewed by at least three program committee members, and eventually 8 papers are selected for inclusion in the combined workshop proceedings. The workshop cover a broad range of topics in the field of social network service on databases such as Social Network Services, Large Data Processing in SNS, Data mining/knowledge discovery in SNS, Databases for SNS Data, Multimedia Applications, Multimedia Database Applications, Semantic Web Services, Emotional Data Processing, Performance Enhancement Techniques in Large Data, Information retrieval, filtering, and dissemination, Stream data management, Web access to databases, Social Data Management, Data Analytics, Privacy Control, Mobile Applications. The topics, which are covered by the accepted papers, are Topic Extraction with Clustering on Tweet, Time-dependent User Profiling, Efficient Processing Top-k Queries, Wrapping-Attack Tolerant SOAP Messages, Self-Healing Web Service Composition, Movie Recommendation System, Information Recommendation in Social Networks, Risk Discovery Process in Social Networking Servic- s and Sequence Data Indexing.
