Abstract :
Two approaches to modeling feed array blockage in single offset reflector are presented. The more rigorous of the two seems to be an unambiguous and fairly simple approach for determining the effects of feed array blockage. This can be used as a tool for design trade-off with reference to reflector geometry. In this rigorous approach, the feed array is modeled as a planar conducting screen for blockage purposes. Thus, the whole antenna is modeled as a dual reflector with the paraboloid as a subreflector and the conducting screen as the main reflector. Both approaches are illustrated using a typical example.<>
