Abstract :
Dynamic scheduling is of practical and theoretical significance to improve spectrum efficiency of MBMS (multimedia broadcast/multicast service) in LTE (Long Term Evolution of UMTS) system. However, the existing schemes about the design of its DSI (dynamic scheduling information) encounter the problem that whether both the starting position and the ending position of the subframes one MTCH occupies should be explicitly indicated by DSI. Moreover, these schemes also suffer from the consumption of excessive overhead due to their absolute indexing of the subframe position. In this paper, we provided a detailed discussion on these issues, and built an OPNET simulation platform based strictly on the standard 3GPP traffic model and LTE protocol stack. The simulation result shows that the indication of both starting and end positions is unnecessary. Then we propose a differential indexing scheme which can futher reduce the overhead of DSI compared to current design scenarios.
