Abstract
The problem of joint data detection and channel estimation for the downlink of a CDMA system adopting aperiodic spreading codes is considered. The solution that is proposed here requires a pilot signal along with knowledge of the spreading code of the user of interest. Computer simulations confirm that the proposed strategy achieves excellent results.
