Abstract
Avian detection is very important for the security and development of human´s aviation as well as the development of avian ecology and the prevention from avian influenza. In this paper, a new method of avian micro-Doppler feature extraction from spectrogram on the range-slow time plane based on frequency-stepped chirp ISAR is proposed. In the method, the micro-Doppler outline can be obtained to extract the micro-Doppler rotation frequency and magnitude. The feasibility and effectiveness of the method is proved by simulation results.
