Abstract :
ATD-1 integrates 3 NASA technologies to support high throughput, efficient arrival operations. Terminal metering for traffic management, controller sequencing and spacing tools, flight deck interval management avionics are discussed. NASA is continuing to mature the capabilities by conducting a series of high-fidelity human-in-the-loop simulations and building prototype operational systems-both air and ground. Controller managed spacing tools are a central component of the envisioned operations.
