Abstract :
The consumers concerns about the performances of the remanufactured products and need great quality assurance. The warranty policies protect the customer by insuring against the failure due to the quality variations (initial design of the product, non-conforming component(s) and the reassembly error). The paper briefly discusses the impacts of the quality variations on the remanufactured product in the process of remanufacturing and models the reliability and the warranty cost under the free rectification lifetime warranty (FRLTW) policy. The numerical example is given to illuminate how the different kinds of quality variations affect the warranty cost and to conclude that the warranty cost to the manufacturer has a great relation to the quality variations and the impact of the reassembly error in the remanufacturing process is much more than that of the non-conforming component(s).
