Abstract :
In this paper, we outline the similarities between oversampled filter banks and classical error-correcting codes. We recall the geometric interpretation of oversampling in terms of subspaces and that of the subband synthesis in terms of projection on this subspace. We derive generic expressions both in the time and polyphase domain for projections on this subspace along noise subspaces and give an example of potential application for subband image transmission.
