Abstract :
This paper presents an efficient method for designing orthogonal pulse shape for digital communication systems. A linear programming based method employing a tight polytopic approximation for the nonconvex parametric domain is used to solve an energy compaction filter problem. The method gives a global solution for the problem without additional variables, and hence can be used for designing long length filter applications. Simulation results are shown to illuminate the effectiveness of the approach.
