Abstract :
This paper presents an iterative algorithm for the design of multichannel cosine modulated pseudo quadrature mirror filter (QMF) banks. In this algorithm, passband frequency is optimized to satisfy new perfect reconstruction condition at frequency (omega = pi/2M). The proposed algorithm is simple, and has high design efficiency. The performance of this algorithm is evaluated in terms of computational time (CPU time), reconstruction error (RE), number of iterations (NOI), aliasing distortion (AD) and signal to noise ratio (SNR). Several design examples are included to illustrate the proposed algorithm and its improved performances over other exiting methods.
